The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Peer Support Program (PSP) is dedicated to assist agency personnel with Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) services, specifically confidential peer support assistance. Recognizing that while performing daily first responder duties, agency personnel become involved in and are exposed to incidents that have the potential to cause various forms of short and/or long-term emotional trauma. The PSP is designed to help in following areas: peer support during times of personal and/or professional stress, early intervention to help mitigate the impacts of stress, referral to program services, and education-based training.
Michigan CISM Laws (MCL 333.20981, 333.20982, and 333.20983) provides Peer Support Program Team Members with the ability to speak to agency employees in a confidential and privileged manner – see OCSO Policy and Procedure 326 for more information.
Agency personnel can initiate services themselves or refer others to a PSP Team Member in a confidential manner by emailing the confidential email, contacting Lt Todd Hill directly, or contacting any of the PSP Team Members.
Some information has been passed along to us from Monica Van Sumer at Kinder Care Learning Centers.
If anyone is still having trouble trying to lock down child care, some information from Monica is attached. They still have “Essential Centers” open from Southgate to Lapeer and Novi to Troy.
Check the Members Only section for a very important update!
The OCDSA Executive Board sent an email out to the members, in reference to the Sheriff’s Office response to the Coronavirus and how it effects our members. If you did not get the email, you can get registered to receive them by registering on the website and within the Members Only section is a link labeled Get Added To The OCDSA Email List.
Due to the fact that the Board would like the memberships input, commenting has been turned on for this topic.
The letter has been posted in the Members Only section of our web page.
If you register today for this website and DO NOT receive the Password Email within 10-15 minutes, let one of us know.
As always, if you do not want to register on the web page you can go to the Executive Board tab and email the Board members directly.
OK, so we finally got an answer as to why you might not receive the 2nd email to set your password.
Due to some companies security breaches, they have really locked down their respective settings.
Without identifying those service providers, if you or anyone you know HAS NOT received the email for setting your password….PLEASE DO NOT hesitate to reach out to Chevy or I to get that taken care of for you! Click the name below.
Due to some items of discussion within the OCDSA being sensitive in nature, a separate News Feed category has been added and will allow for certain items/posts to appear in the Members Only section.
Remember, you must register to have access to that portion of the web page.
Finally, if you know of someone who has not registered please encourage them to do so.
Both the House and Senate have introduced separate bills for PA 312 to include Correction employees.
The bills have just been introduced to their respective legislative bodies, which is the perfect time to send a simple email or call your legislator.
OCDSA Board has just been advised that for unforeseen circumstances, the agenda item for the consolidation of OCDSA Road & Corrections must be adjourned until the April meeting.
Sorry for the confusion.
The exact date of the April meeting and appropriate links to be involved will be posted when that information is available.
